Turkey Burn 2021 – We Are All Winners This Year

Everyone who helped with this year’s Tri-Valley Turkey Burn (TVTB) deserves a medal for contributing to its incredible success.

The seventh annual 5K/10K family fun run broke attendance records with 2136 registered participants.

Our 26 corporate sponsors contributed $15,500 to the PNR Foundation to fund our youth service programs. A huge thanks to all of our sponsors!

We are especially thankful for the work of this year’s TVTB organizing committee, co-chaired by PNR President Elect Billy Buckley and Viviana Cherman.

The following committee members handled all the complex tasks that were integral to putting on the show: Stacey Blaney (packet pickup, on-site support); Jim Brice (media relations, photography); Michael Cherman (master of ceremonies); Darcy DeCoite (website design, copywriting, on-site booth support); Kevin Greenlee (site preparation); Heidi Hall (on-site booth support); Tami Hennegan (packet pickup and on-site booth support); Mark Linsky (web registration site/registration technology); Dave Rice (packet pickup, on-site support); Ron Sutton (site logistics/equipment); and Wayne Yeaw (printing).

Rotary District 5170 Gov. Richard Flanders was the honorary starter for the 10K race. Former PNR Member Lee Denlinger who helped persuade Rotary International to adopt Youth Service as its fifth Avenue of Service was the honorary starter for the 5K race.

Thanks, too, to all the PNR members who served as sponsors or responded to Billy’s “all hands-on deck” request for volunteers.

Be sure to add the Turkey Burn to your calendar for 2022. With our support, it will be even bigger and better next year. PNR ROCKS!
