THE MISSION OF THE
PLEASANTON NORTH ROTARY
FOUNDATION
The Pleasanton North Rotary Foundation has raised and distributed over $2.2M in grants to nonprofits in our community. By supporting our Foundation, you can help improve the lives of those in need. Our Foundation distributes funds to many local organizations including Open Heart Kitchen, Pleasanton Military Families, Rooms of Hope, the Valley Humane Society, TriValley REACH, the Assistance League of Amador Valley, and many others. In addition, we support many youth projects that foster community involvement and leadership skills, as well as providing college scholarships. We're also involved in several International projects such as delivering over 5,000 wheelchairs in underdeveloped countries around the world through The Wheelchair Foundation.
In addition to financial support, our club and foundation members love to roll up our sleeves and work together on community service projects such as cooking at the Berkeley Food & Housing Project shelter, packing meals at Kids Against Hunger, doing yard work at the Sunflower Hill gardens, or doing renovations at Shepherd's Gate's women's shelter. We also participate in charity events such as East Bay Stand Down, the Tim Tebow Foundation's A Night to Shine, the Taylor Family Foundation's Day in the Park. These volunteer efforts greatly increase the value of the funds we raise and magnify the benefits we give to those less fortunate than ourselves. Feed your soul, and contact us today!
One of its most public international campaigns has been the worldwide Polio Plus campaign. Rotarians have mobilized by the hundreds of thousands to ensure that children are immunized against this crippling disease and that surveillance is strong despite the poor infrastructure, extreme poverty and civil strife of many countries.
Since the PolioPlus program’s inception in 1985 more than two billion children have received oral polio vaccine. Rotary has committed more than US$850 million to global polio eradication and received $355 million in challenge grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Rotary Foundation is the endowment fund that transforms monetary gifts and donations into community service projects that change lives around the world.

The Rotary Foundation (TRF) is a non-profit corporation that supports the efforts of Rotary International to achieve world understanding and peace through international humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs. It is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation who share its vision of a better world. The Foundation was created in 1917 as an endowment fund for Rotary "to do good in the world." It has grown from an initial contribution of US$26.50 to more than US$1billion. It has one of the largest and most prestigious international fellowship programs in the world.

Contributions to the Pleasanton North Rotary Foundation are tax deductible and provide opportunities for contributors to support the many service projects of the Pleasanton North Rotary club, local non-profit organizations, youth organizations, and international projects.
