Sadie Brown Awarded PNR's Chuck Pickens Memorial Scholarship

Sadie Brown has been awarded the 2022 PNR Chuck Pickens Scholarship for her extensive community service work as a student at Pleasanton Foothill High School.

In addition to an exemplary academic record and participation in varsity young women's soccer, Sadie has volunteered time to the National Charity League, Girl Scouts of Northern California, Hively, Kids Against Hunger and other local community service organizations.

Following graduation in June, Sadie plans to attend Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, CA.

Sadie is shown here holding a certificate for the $1000 scholarship with her father, Geoff (far left) and mother, Martha. PNR President Michael Cherman and Youth Services Coordinator Nick Valenziano are pictured to the right.

The memorial scholarship is named for Chuck Pickens, the first president of PNR, which is currently celebrating the 35th anniversary of its Rotary Charter awarded in 1987.
