You are invited to join fellow District 5170 Rotary members and the Wheelchair Foundation Oct. 19 to Oct. 23 for an opportunity to help distribute hundreds of wheelchairs, join "hands-on" community service projects and enjoy the sights, sounds and culture of Monterrey, Mexico's third largest city.
The five-day trip promises enduring memories and poignant moments as you personally deliver wheelchairs financed in part by your generosity and the leadership of Past District 5170 Gov. Richard Flanders. The trip, organized by US Rotary Clubs, Howard Tours of Oakland, the Wheelchair Foundation and Monterrey Rotarians, includes:
Wednesday, Oct. 19 - Air travel* from San Francisco International Airport to Monterrey. Check-in at the deluxe Safi Valle Hotel. Accommodations for five days, excluding airfare, will cost $1049 per person, double occupancy. Add $300 from a single room.
Thursday, Oct. 20 - Monterrey sightseeing/club service projects. Dinner at a local restaurant with Monterrey Rotarians
Friday, Oct. 21 - Partners in Friendship and Service. Working in small groups with local Rotarians on community service projects focus including school improvements and renovations to libraries, sports facilities, gardens, etc. An evening of Home Hospitality with dinner at the homes of local Rotarians will follow.
Saturday, Oct. 22 - Wheelchair delivery. Changing lives and sharing the joy of having a personal role in providing mobility and independence to wheelchair recipients. A Celebration Dinner at a local Rotarian's home will follow.
Sunday, Oct. 23 - Return flight to SFO.
