As with any business, our Club has to manage its affairs in the modern world of technology. Upon joining
the Club, the Secretary assigns the new member a password. This password can be used to login in 2 places:
- under Login, Member
Login on our own website
- add/edit events to the calendar
- any member can add an event
- only the member that originally added the event can modify it
- the event will only become "public" when an administrator has approved it
(send a quick email to webmaster to ask for speedy
approval)
- or download members only files, such as the Expense Form, which should be used to submit expenses
to the Treasurer when "running" a Club event
- and RI-CAS (Club
Administrative Software, hosted by RI) Member Portal
- request your forgotten password to be emailed to you
- change password (highly recommended the first time)
- edit your contact information (phones, address, email)
- view membership roster, with or without member pictures
- access both private (can only be accessed here by a member) member contact (home address, phones,
etc.) and public (can be seen by anybody on our Club website) member contact (business address, phones, etc.)
information
- view the Club's Classifications and its members
- view your personal attendance record as entered by the Secretary
- view your account statement as entered by the Treasurer
(not in use)
The database of RI-CAS is "copied" to our own site once a week, so any changes you make there, as your
password or email address, etc., will be reflected on our own website within a week. The Club has adopted a Privacy
Policy (see Membership Information) which is given to each member
upon joining and must be adhered to. We have agreed that we can give another member's business information to someone,
but we should guard the private information, when giving a member's name to a potential customer for example. And we
are bound to never share lists, to pass on a list of members to non-members.
Two more important links for members are:
- our NorthWinds newsletter mailing list: receive an email notification as
soon as a new edition of NorthWinds is posted on our site,
with a link to go directly to it, and see it in color! No user
name or password is used here; no one is automatically added to
this list or removed from it, you must do that yourself. Anyone,
member or not, can add or remove their email address from the
list.
- and Rotary
Business Online. The first time there, you must create another user name and password. Once registered, you'll have
quick and easy access to:
- contribute to Rotary Foundation
- view your contribution history
- manage your Rotary e-mail subscriptions
- register for meetings (ex.: RI Convention)
- access member benefits
- Dell computers offerings
- RI MasterCard Credit Card
- Club and District officers have access to additional records and reports
